Richard Linklater – Dream is Destiny

Quintessential viewing for aspiring filmmakers and cinephiles alike, Dream is Destiny presents a loving tribute to the life and work of indie legend Richard Linklater. Emerging from Austin, Texas in the early 1990s, Linklater would go on his influence whole generation of DIY filmmakers looking to carve out a career off the mainstream grid. Charting the course of his career from his groundbreaking film, Slacker in 1991, right up to his the award-winning experiment Boyhood in 2014, the film even includes behind the scenes footage from his most recent work: Everybody Wants Some.  Directors Louis Black and Karen Bernstein artfully weave together illuminating discussions with Linklater himself amongst testimonies from faithful colleagues and peers including Kevin Smith, Matthew McConaughey, Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, Jack Black and many more. Offering an intimate look at Linklater’s fiercely independent and innovative style, the film offers a joyous celebration of a rare cinematic talent.
