Director Peter Strickland lifts the curtain on cinematic sound production in this story of hapless audio engineer Gilderoy (Toby Jones, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), who finds himself transplanted from the safety of his garden shed to Italy’s cheapest, sleaziest post-production studios to work on a sordid horror film.

Fusebox Cinema UNMADE IN CHINA Documentary by Tanner King Barklow and Gil Kofman (USA/China, 2012)
If you love American Movie or Living in Oblivion, then your going to love this absurd and hilarious documentary about an overeager American striving to make art in a Communist regime. This documentary follows the experience of a Los Angeles filmmaker (Gil Koffman) who finds himself in Xiamen, China trying to direct a thriller, in Chinese, using a translator.

After a long absence, gangster and father Ulysses Pick (Jason Patric) arrives home to a house haunted with memories, towing the body of a teenaged girl and a bound and gagged young man.  The new film by Guy Maddin starring Isabella Rossellini – a 40s gangster flick crossed with Homer’s ‘Odyssey’ and an LSD-soaked episode of ‘Scooby Doo’.

In the critically acclaimed and hilariously bizarre documentary “Total Badass,” drug-fueled Austin icon Chad Holt, a weed-dealing, sex-crazed provocateur, singer, writer/publisher, Guinea pig enthusiast and criminal mastermind, confronts the unholy trinity of life-warping hazards as the law, financial hardship, and some major family responsibilities threaten to undermine his uniquely brazen and chaotic way of life.

A young nurse is pressured to get married and have children. Her first and only boyfriend of ten years makes a hilariously inappropriate Internet video. A gay friend gets dumped for throwing his cat off the bed. Their best friend is a balding, 24-year-old virgin, and quickly becoming a ‘creepy old man.’ Sex is the theme in this ensemble piece, in which stigmas are challenged and a group of friends bare all.

James’ parents leave for a week and of course, James decides to host a party. James expresses interest in inviting Kelly Alexander who has a reputation for her sexual appetite and party image. Rachel advises against this because secretly, she has feelings for James.
Two juniors, Brad and Kyle decide to attend the party since despite the group not wanting them there.

June 24, 2010. James Franco (the actor) prepares to film the climactic episode of his stint on the daytime dramaGeneral Hospital. “Franco” (his serial-killer character on the show) readies a murderous art installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The day begins like any other for James – hair and makeup, interviews, hugs and autographs for the fans. But as night falls and the shoot begins, James becomes increasingly unhinged as “Franco’s” nefarious work becomes indistinguishable from his own.

Years before YouTube Jaimie and Aspasia Leonarder aka Jay Katz and Miss Death had started collecting by snail mail a myriad of obscure media that became the foundation of their Mu-Meson Archive. For the 2012 Sydney Underground Film Festival they will be presenting a 1.5 hour program of the best of the worst.

Boiler Room Cinema ZERO KILLED Documentary by Michal Kosakowski
Since 1996 film director Michal Kosakowski has been asking people with different backgrounds about their murder fantasies. He offered them the chance to stage their fantasies as short films. The only condition was that they had to act in these films themselves, either as victims or perpetrators. More than a decade later, Kosakowski met these people again to ask them about their emotions during their acts of murder or victimization, and interviewed them about current social topics such as revenge, torture, war, terrorism, media, domestic violence, the death penalty, suicide etc.

Three visionary filmmakers – Alexy Fedorchenko, Harmony Korine and Jan Kwiecinski– have created three unique stories that represent their interpretation of the higher plane of existence known as the Fourth Dimension. As viewers, we are given a glimpse of enlightenment through the eyes of three one-of-a-kind characters who are each on a journey that changes the way they see the world and themselves.

Bad Brains were already unique when they formed in 1977, gaining an immediate fan base in their native Washington DC for their blistering hardcore punk shows. But Bad Brains had already cut their musical teeth playing jazz fusion under the name Mind Power, and their version of punk was already pushing in different directions.

Commissioned by a Middle Eastern Biennial to make a film on the theme of “art as a subversive act,” independent filmmaker Caveh Zahedi (I AM A SEX ADDICT) goes overboard. Told that he can do whatever he wants except make fun of the Sheik, who rules the country and finances the Biennial, Zahedi decides to do just that.

The President of the United States has been bitten by a werewolf and is loose on the streets of Washington on a killing rampage! This comedy/horror/political satire is also a ‘green movie,’ created entirely out of recycled stock and public domain film footage culled from over one hundred grainy government instructional shorts, classroom education movies, vintage stag reels and features that have fallen out of copyright as well as from the favor of the public.

However, instead of taking his own life, he embarks on a killing spree with cohort Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr), who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement, and together they embark on a nation-wide assault on our country’s dumbest, most irritating celebrities.
