THE 48 hour film CHALLENGE

After the rollercoaster that we all faced last year, we are so excited to be bringing back TAKE48 in 2021 with in-person events (as long as we face no further Covid outbreaks here in Sydney). Interstate and international participation through our online portals will remain, so you don't have to be in Sydney to participate!

KEY DATES:
- TAKE48 2021 will run from 7PM, Friday 3rd September to 7PM, Sunday 5th September (AEST time)
2021 REGISTRATIONS OPENING SOON!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

+

TAKE48 is a filmmaking challenge that presents a fun way to test your filmmaking abilities whilst working alongside your friends to battle against the clock over an intense and exciting 48 hours!

The challenge sees participants script, shoot and edit their films all within a 48-hour window. Prior to the start of the challenge, a theme is announced. All films must include the theme in order to qualify for screening and prizes. With only 48 hours to write, shoot and edit, participants are challenged to change the way they think about filmmaking!

The best films are then chosen and curated by the TAKE48 and SUFF teams for screening at the TAKE48 screening session during the Sydney Underground Film Festival!

FILMAKERS HUB

+

The TAKE48 Filmmaker's Hub operates with the purpose of encouraging filmmakers to come together in a shared space and work with other like-minded creatives within a fun and safe environment. To aid this process, professional mentors are also made available to help participants with their films.

In 2019 the Hub was held on the beautiful grounds of Sydney College of the Arts, and in 2020 the Hub moved online to remain covid safe!

Screening sessions

+

Not only will your film have a shot at winning some amazing prizes, but you also have the chance to see it screened at the special TAKE48 screening during the Sydney Underground Film Festival! All submissions are watched by the TAKE48 and SUFF teams, with the best films being chosen and curated to screen.
